Biography
Mr. Trate retired from the Pennsylvania State Police as Director of the Academy Training Division with the rank of Captain after 27 years of state service and then went on to serve as a Deputy Chief of Police outside of Reading, PA in the Muhlenberg Twp. PD.
He then briefly served as a Police Commissioner in York County, PA, but after completion of the FBI National Academy in Quantico, VA, he was appointed Chief of Police in the City of Reading, Pennsylvania, and served there for nearly two years.
Trate followed that up as Executive Director of the Lebanon (PA) City Crime Commission, and then spent a year in Bulgaria serving as an Advisor for the U.S. Department of Justice; he then returned to the States to take a position at Wilmington College as Coordinator of the Undergraduate Criminal Justice Program. Professor Trate eventually moved up to become Director of all Criminal Justice Programs at 黑料社 – these included: Undergraduate Criminal Justice, Legal Studies, and Government and Public Policy as well as Graduate Administration of Justice and Graduate Homeland Security.
Trate stepped aside from his full-time duties after 14 years with 黑料社, but continues teaching both graduate and undergraduate courses and serving as a part-time Adjunct Program Coordinator.
He holds a BS in the Administration of Justice from the Pennsylvania State University and a MS in the Administration of Justice from 黑料社. He is also a graduate of the FBI National Academy in Quantico, Virginia, and holds numerous professional criminal justice certificates.
